Hello, Cupcake! by Karen Tack & Alan Richardson

Hello, Cupcake! by Karen Tack & Alan Richardson

The cover says, “Irresistibly playful creations anyone can make,” and IT’S TRUE! Now, I am working with a preschooler and a toddler here, but what the heck, why not at least TRY? So we went for owl cupcakes, homemade batter and icing (great recipes right in the book – but boxed recipes are included too). They turned out so cute! My preschooler was very adept at placing the cookies on to make huge owl eyes. My toddler loved just eating the ingredients – shall we say sugar high? Bottom line, our cupcakes looked great and WE HAD SO MUCH FUN making these. We’re not perfectionists at this level, so just enjoy it for the fun it can be. Hello, Cupcake Website. The one minor thing I thought was missing, there is not a single vehicle cupcake in the whole book, no rockets, no fire engines, really NOT anything boyish. However, with some imagination and this book for inspiration, I think we might invent some of our own.
